What Padeliga is

Padeliga is an app for running a padel league. It keeps a table, draws fixtures, holds a deadline for each matchday and lets both pairs sign off a score. It is run by Louie Wellman.

Clubs join on a free trial. A club may later pay for a plan, agreed directly with Padeliga and never through the app or the App Store. Players never pay for anything. A plan only sets what a club is allowed to do.

It is not a booking system, it does not own a court and it is not run by any club, venue or governing body. Whoever set your league up decides its rules, its dates and who is in it. If you disagree with any of that, they are the person to ask.

Signing in

You join a league with a join code, a name and a PIN. As a player there is no account, no email address and no password. A club login is a separate thing and it does use an email address. If you get a new phone, your phone number is how you get your leagues back: you type it, we text you a code, and the leagues that number is in come back. What is kept, and why, is set out in what is stored.

Your PIN is what signs off a result as you, so keep it to yourself. If somebody else added you to a league and read a PIN out to you, the app will ask you to pick your own the first time you sign in. Do that.

You must be old enough to agree to this yourself. If a child is in a league, the adult who runs it is responsible for them being there.

Using it fairly

Do not:

• put anything abusive, threatening, hateful, obscene or discriminatory in a name, a team name, a match note or a venue field (every one of those is read by other people);
• pretend to be somebody else, or sign in as somebody else;
• put somebody's phone number, address or anything else about them into the app without their say-so;
• use it to harass, follow or contact somebody who has asked you to stop;
• enter scores you know are wrong, or sign off a result for a match that was not played;
• try to get at data that is not yours, break the app, hammer it with automated requests, or get around the PIN and join-code checks.

Break these and your league admin, or the operator, can remove you. If you think that was wrong, email the address at the bottom of this page.

Reporting somebody, and blocking them

Tap somebody's name and you get Report and Block.

Block is immediate and needs nobody's permission. You stop seeing their profile, and their phone number and the button that messages them come off every screen you can see. They lose yours in the same breath. It does not stop the app telling either of you about a match you are both in, because the league still has to run.

Report sends the operator what you saw, who it was about, and a copy of the thing you are reporting so it survives being deleted. Reports are read by Louie Wellman and acted on: the usual outcomes are a word with the league admin, removing somebody from a league, or blocking them from the app. Serious reports are looked at as quickly as we can. Nothing you report is shown to the person you reported.

If somebody is in danger, or a crime has been committed, tell the police first. This is a league app, not an emergency service.

What we do not promise

Padeliga is provided as it is. It may be unavailable, it may lose an entry, and it may stop being run at all. Nothing here is a guarantee that it works, that it keeps working, or that your data survives, though it is backed up every six hours and there is every intention of keeping it going.

The league table is a record of what people typed in. It is not evidence of anything, and no prize, ranking or entitlement follows from it.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from using the app.

Leaving

Open the league, go to the League tab and choose Delete me from this league. It happens straight away, nobody has to approve it, and the results other people played are kept while your name comes off them. If you are in more than one league, do it in each of them. Deleting the app on its own does not delete anything.

The operator can close a league or take somebody out of one for breaking these terms, or stop running Padeliga altogether, with whatever notice is practical.

Changes

These terms can change. The date at the bottom says when they last did. Carrying on using the app after a change means you accept it; if you do not, take yourself out of your leagues.

Who runs it, and the law

Padeliga is operated by Louie Wellman, an individual in the United Kingdom. Contact: supportpadeliga@gmail.com. He is also the person to write to about anything in what is stored.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK you keep the protection of your own local law and can bring a claim in your own courts.

Apple is not a party to these terms, has no obligation to provide support for Padeliga, and is not responsible for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
