Padel level calculator
In short
Answer seven questions about your padel: how long you have played, your rallies, the walls, overheads, the net and how often you play matches. The calculator gives an estimate on the 0 to 7 scale Playtomic uses, with the name of the band and the kind of league or session that suits you. It is a guide for choosing a league, not your Playtomic level, which moves with your match results.
Nothing you type leaves your browser: no sign up, no email address, and the names are not stored.
How padel levels work
Most UK clubs use the 0 to 7 scale from Playtomic, the booking app. A new player starts with a level from a short questionnaire, and after that it moves with the results of competitive matches: beat a pair rated above you and you go up more than for beating a pair rated below.
| Level | Band | What it usually looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Under 1.0 | Initiation | New to padel, learning the walls and the serve |
| 1.0 to 1.49 | Beginner | Short rallies, avoids the glass |
| 1.5 to 2.4 | Initiation intermediate | Steady rallies, plays off the back glass sometimes |
| 2.5 to 3.4 | Intermediate | A typical club player: bandeja, volleys, uses the walls |
| 3.5 to 4.4 | Intermediate high | Plays with pace and placement, wins the net |
| 4.5 to 5.4 | Intermediate advanced | Strong club and tournament players |
| About 5.5 to 7 | Advanced to professional | Competitive and professional players |

Choosing a league at your level
A league is the quickest way to get regular matches against people of your standard. Box leagues and divisions sort themselves out: win and you move up, lose and you move down, so a level only matters for the first round. A social league with a new partner every week means you can join on your own. Find a padel league near you.
Questions
Is this my Playtomic level?
No. It is an estimate from your answers, to help you pick a league or session. Playtomic sets your level from its own questionnaire and then moves it with your match results.
What is a good padel level?
Around 2.5 to 3.4 is a typical intermediate club player. Above 4.5 is advanced.
How do I improve my padel level?
Play matches that count against people slightly better than you, and learn to use the back glass and the bandeja. A box league gives you both every week.
What level is a beginner in padel?
Under 1.5 on the 0 to 7 scale. Most beginners move up quickly once they are comfortable playing off the back glass.
