How to start a league in the app

In short

Open Padeliga and tap Start a new league. Answer six quick questions and Padeliga suggests a format: tap Make it now, or Change something first. Add any extras, name the league and tap Create league. You are the admin. Share the join code, the invite link or the printable poster.

Create the league

  1. Open Padeliga. On the join screen, tap Start a new league. If you are already in a league, go to Home, tap Join or start another league, then Start a new league.
  2. Under Tell us about your league, answer the six questions: how many players, how long, competitive or casual, how people sign up, how often they play, and what to play for at the end.
  3. Read Our suggestion. Tap Make it now, or Change something to go through each step yourself. You can also tap Skip the questions and set it up myself.
  4. On Anything else?, add any extras, such as an entry fee or your WhatsApp group link, and tap Next. They are all optional.
  5. On Check it over, give the league a name, then type your name, a PIN and your phone number.
  6. Tap Create league. You are the admin, and everything is editable afterwards.

Invite players

  1. Open Admin: tap the admin button at the top of the league, or go to the League tab and tap League admin.
  2. Go to People. The Join code card shows the code and a QR code.
  3. Tap Copy invite link or Share to send it to your group, or Printable poster for a sheet with the QR code.

Players join with the code, a name and a PIN. See joining a league.

The draw

Go to Admin, then Fixtures. For many leagues you do not have to do anything: the fixtures draw themselves on the start date, and you can tap Draw the fixtures now to draw early. Divisions are never drawn on their own: you see them first with See the divisions and draw. A knockout draws itself when the last place is taken, or when you draw it. When the fixtures are drawn the teams lock and joining closes.

While it runs

  • Overview lists anything waiting on you, such as a pair Asking for more time.
  • People: tap the ··· next to a name to rename them, reset their PIN, make them an admin, or withdraw their pair.
  • Season: settings, the next season, Download everything as CSV and a printable fixture list.

Players agree their own times, book their own courts and confirm each other's scores. Padeliga does not book courts or take payments.

Still stuck?

Email hello@padeliga.co.uk with the league name and what you were trying to do. A person will reply. For anything about one league, whoever runs it can often help fastest.

Questions

Does it cost anything?

Players never pay. Leagues of 16 or fewer are free, whoever runs them. Clubs get a free 90-day trial.

Can I change the format after I create it?

Yes. Everything is editable until the fixtures are drawn.

Can someone else help me run it?

Yes. In Admin, People, tap the dots next to their name and choose Make them an admin.

What is the difference between a friends league and a club league?

A friends league is run by one of you from the Admin screen in the app. A club gets the club console on top: every league on one screen, staff logins, a club board, announcements, entry fees and exports.
