Social leagues in Padeliga
Padel social league app: a new partner every week
In short
A social league is the Americano league spread over a season. Members join on their own, with no partner needed. Every matchday the app draws a new partner and new opponents, everyone plays the same number of games, and points follow the player in a table of individuals. Padeliga runs it for a club: members agree times and confirm scores on their phone, and staff see it all in one console.
Why clubs run social leagues
- Nobody needs a partner to join. Most members who never enter a league are put off by finding a partner. A social league removes that.
- Members meet the club. In a league of 16 over 15 matchdays, everyone partners all 15 of the others once.
- It suits mixed levels. A strong player partners everyone in turn, so no pair runs away with it.
- It fills courts across the week. Every match is one booking, made by the four players when they can all play.
How a social league runs in Padeliga
1. Set it up
Staff pick Social in the club console, or an organiser does it in the app, and choose the dates, how often a matchday falls, a level range and any entry fee. Or answer six quick questions and get a suggested format.
2. Members join on their own
A QR poster, a link or a six character code, a name and a PIN. No email address and no password.
3. The draw
The app draws every matchday: a new partner and new opponents each time. When the number of players does not divide by four, people take turns to sit out, and the draw is never saved unless everyone in the league plays the same number of games. Staff can name two people to keep apart.
4. Each matchday
The four players agree a time in the app and book the court the way they already do. After the match one side enters the score and the other confirms it. Matches can be scored in sets, Fast4 or points, one score a match, the way an Americano is scored.
5. The table
Points belong to the player, not the pair, so the table is a list of individuals and it updates the moment a score is confirmed. A social league can end on the table, or with finals for the top of the table.

How many players, and how many weeks
The number of players sets the fair length. These are the numbers the Padeliga draw uses, and you can try any size in the free round robin generator, which uses the same engine:
| Players | Rounds | Games each | Sitting out a round | Matches a round |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 3 | 3 | Nobody | 1 |
| 5 | 5 | 4 | 1 | 1 |
| 6 | 6 | 4 | 2 | 1 |
| 7 | 7 | 4 | 3 | 1 |
| 8 | 7 | 7 | Nobody | 2 |
| 9 | 9 | 8 | 1 | 2 |
| 10 | 10 | 8 | 2 | 2 |
| 11 | 11 | 8 | 3 | 2 |
| 12 | 11 | 11 | Nobody | 3 |
| 13 | 13 | 12 | 1 | 3 |
| 14 | 14 | 12 | 2 | 3 |
| 15 | 15 | 12 | 3 | 3 |
| 16 | 15 | 15 | Nobody | 4 |
| 20 | 19 | 19 | Nobody | 5 |
| 24 | 23 | 23 | Nobody | 6 |
For a big group, a long season is the risk. Split it into divisions with a new partner each week instead: a box of 8 plays 7 matchdays.
What it does not do
- No one night Americano or Mexicano sessions. It runs the format over weeks. For a single evening, the round robin generator prints the rounds.
- No court booking, no payments and no in-app chat. Members book the way they already do, entry fees go straight to the club, and a league can show a button to join its WhatsApp group.
Questions
What is a padel social league?
A league for individuals rather than pairs. Every matchday the draw gives each player a new partner and new opponents, and points are kept per player. It is an Americano spread over a season.
Do members need a partner to join?
No. They join on their own with a code, a name and a PIN, and the app draws their partner each matchday.
What happens with an odd number of players?
People take turns to sit out a matchday, and the league runs for the number of matchdays where everyone plays the same number of games. With 10 players that is 10 matchdays and 8 games each.
How are points scored in a social league?
The organiser chooses: sets, Fast4, or points, one score a match, the way an Americano is scored. Points go to each player.
Can a social league end with finals?
Yes. It can end on the table, or with finals for the top of the table.
What does it cost?
Members never pay. Clubs get a free 90-day trial, and pricing is agreed at a review based on what actually happened.
