Padel round robin generator
In short
Type in your players, or just how many there are, and the generator draws every round: who partners whom, who they play and who sits out. With rotating partners everyone plays the same number of games and partners as many different people as the numbers allow. With fixed pairs every pair plays every other pair. Print it, download it or copy it into WhatsApp.

How to use it
- Choose rotating partners or fixed pairs. Rotating partners is the format of an Americano or a social league: everyone signs up on their own. Fixed pairs is a classic league: pairs sign up together and stay together.
- Type the names, one per line, or leave the box empty and set how many. Names are only used to label the draw.
- Check the number of rounds. The generator suggests the fair number for your players and warns you if the number you pick would give some people fewer games, with a button to switch to a fair one.
- Set the first date and the time per round if the rounds are played over weeks. For a single evening, ignore the dates and play the rounds in order.
- Share it. Copy for WhatsApp pastes cleanly into a group chat, Download CSV opens in Excel or Google Sheets, and Print gives a clean sheet for the noticeboard. Not happy with the draw? Press Shuffle the draw.
How many rounds is fair? The numbers
A padel game needs four players, so with rotating partners the number of players decides how many rounds give everybody the same number of games. When the number of players divides by four, nobody sits out. When it does not, the extra players sit out a round in turn, and the draw needs enough rounds for the turns to come round evenly. These are the fair numbers the generator uses, worked out by the same engine as the app:
| Players | Rounds | Games each | Sitting out a round | Matches a round |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 3 | 3 | Nobody | 1 |
| 5 | 5 | 4 | 1 | 1 |
| 6 | 6 | 4 | 2 | 1 |
| 7 | 7 | 4 | 3 | 1 |
| 8 | 7 | 7 | Nobody | 2 |
| 9 | 9 | 8 | 1 | 2 |
| 10 | 10 | 8 | 2 | 2 |
| 11 | 11 | 8 | 3 | 2 |
| 12 | 11 | 11 | Nobody | 3 |
| 13 | 13 | 12 | 1 | 3 |
| 14 | 14 | 12 | 2 | 3 |
| 15 | 15 | 12 | 3 | 3 |
| 16 | 15 | 15 | Nobody | 4 |
| 20 | 19 | 19 | Nobody | 5 |
| 24 | 23 | 23 | Nobody | 6 |
In every one of these draws each player partners a different person every round, so the number of games each is also the number of different partners. Any whole multiple of the rounds is also fair, for a longer season.
Fixed pairs: how a round robin of pairs works
With fixed pairs, every pair plays every other pair once, or twice for a longer league. An even number of pairs needs one round fewer than the number of pairs: 8 pairs is 7 rounds. An odd number needs as many rounds as there are pairs, because one pair rests each round: 7 pairs is 7 rounds, with every pair resting once. The generator spreads home and away so no pair is always named first, and in a double round robin the return match lands on a different round to the first.
Round robin, Americano or league?
They share a draw. An Americano is a rotating partners round robin played in one session and scored in points. A social league is the same draw spread over weeks, with a date to play each round by. A classic league is a fixed pairs round robin. If your group is too big for one round robin, split it into boxes with the box league generator, and for a cup at the end of a season use the bracket generator. Questions
How many rounds does a padel round robin need for 8 players?
With rotating partners, 7 rounds: two matches a round, nobody sits out, and everyone partners each of the other 7 players once. With 8 fixed pairs, 7 rounds as well, four matches a round.
How many games does each player get with 12 players?
With rotating partners over 11 rounds, 11 games each: three matches a round, nobody sits out, and everyone partners each of the other 11 players once.
What happens with an odd number of players?
The players left over after making fours sit out a round in turn. With 10 players, two sit out each round, and over 10 rounds everyone plays 8 games and sits out 2.
Why does the generator warn me about the number of rounds?
Because with some numbers of rounds the sit outs cannot come round evenly, and some players would get fewer games than others. The warning shows the nearest fair numbers and switches to one with a tap.
Can I use it for an Americano night?
Yes. Choose rotating partners, ignore the dates and play the rounds in order. Score each match in points or games, whichever your group prefers.
Does everyone partner everyone?
When the number of rounds is the fair number in the table, every player has a different partner every round. With a number of players that divides by four, or one more than that, everyone partners everyone exactly once.
Can Padeliga run the league for me?
Yes. In the Padeliga app the same draw is made for you, members get their partner and opponents on their phone, agree a time, and confirm each other’s scores, and the table updates itself. Players never pay; clubs get a 90-day trial.
Run your club’s leagues in Padeliga
Members join from a code or the QR poster, agree times in the app and confirm each other’s scores, and the table updates itself. Staff see every league on one screen. Clubs get a free 90-day trial, members never pay, and leagues of 16 or fewer are free.
