Padel bracket generator
In short
Type in your pairs, seeds first if you have any, and the generator makes the knockout draw: the bracket size, the byes, the first round ties and a numbered path to the final, with a date to play each round by. Byes are spread through the draw, or go to the seeds. Print it, download it or copy it into WhatsApp.
The generator needs JavaScript switched on in your browser.
How to use it
- Type the pairs, one per line, or leave the box empty and set how many.
- Seeds are optional. If you choose Top 4, the first four lines are seeds 1 to 4 in that order. They are placed so they cannot meet before the semi finals, and they take the byes first.
- Set the first date and the time per round. A knockout over weeks needs a date per round, so one late tie cannot hold up the draw. For a single day, ignore the dates.
- Share it: Copy for WhatsApp, Download CSV or Print. Press Shuffle the draw for a new random draw.
Byes and bracket sizes
A knockout bracket is always 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64. When the number of pairs is not one of those, the gap is filled with byes in the first round: those pairs go straight into round two. There is always one match fewer than the number of pairs.
| Pairs | Bracket | Byes | Matches | Rounds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | 8 | 2 | 5 | 3 |
| 10 | 16 | 6 | 9 | 4 |
| 12 | 16 | 4 | 11 | 4 |
| 20 | 32 | 12 | 19 | 5 |
| 24 | 32 | 8 | 23 | 5 |
Without seeds, the byes are spread evenly through the draw so no quarter gets an easy run. With seeds, the standard seeding order is used (1 v 8, 4 v 5, 2 v 7, 3 v 6 in an eight), and the seeds take the byes.
Running the knockout
A club knockout over several weeks needs a date per round, a rule for ties that are not played, and a way to collect scores. The padel knockout guide covers the house rules. For a league with a knockout at the end, see champion of champions.

Questions
How many byes does a padel knockout need?
The bracket size minus the number of pairs. 12 pairs need a 16 bracket, so 4 byes; 20 pairs need a 32 bracket, so 12 byes.
Who gets the byes?
With seeds, the seeds get them first, in seed order. Without seeds, they are spread evenly through the draw.
How many rounds does a knockout of 16 pairs take?
Four: round of 16, quarter finals, semi finals and the final, with 15 matches in all.
Can I seed the draw?
Yes. Choose 2, 4 or 8 seeds and list them first. They are placed so the top two can only meet in the final and the top four only from the semi finals.
Can Padeliga run the knockout for me?
Yes. Members sign up with a code or a QR poster, on their own or as a pair. The app makes the draw, gives each round a deadline and moves the winners on as soon as the other pair confirms the score.
Run your club’s leagues in Padeliga
Members join from a code or the QR poster, agree times in the app and confirm each other’s scores, and the table updates itself. Staff see every league on one screen. Clubs get a free 90-day trial, members never pay, and leagues of 16 or fewer are free.
