Padel box league generator
In short
List your players or pairs strongest first and choose a box size. The generator splits them into even boxes, never more than one apart in size, and draws the fixtures for every box: rotating partners or fixed pairs. Smaller boxes get a little longer per round so every box finishes on the same date. Print it, download it or copy it into WhatsApp.
The generator needs JavaScript switched on in your browser.
How to use it
- Choose rotating partners or fixed pairs. Rotating partners suits members who sign up on their own; fixed pairs suits pairs who play together.
- List the names strongest first. Box 1 is filled first, so the order you type is the seeding. Use last season’s finishing order or Playtomic levels. Or leave the box empty and set how many.
- Pick a box size. The generator keeps boxes within one of each other, and with rotating partners it picks the nearest split where every box plays the same number of games (more on that below).
- Set the first date and the time per round, then share the result: Copy for WhatsApp, Download CSV or Print.
How the boxes are made fair
- Even boxes. Box sizes never differ by more than one: 16 pairs at about 4 a box is four boxes of 4, and 10 pairs is boxes of 4, 3 and 3.
- Equal games inside every box. With rotating partners each box gets the number of rounds where everyone in it plays the same number of games (see the fair numbers table). With fixed pairs every pair meets every other pair once.
- Equal games across the boxes, with rotating partners. This is the trap most box leagues fall into. A box of 8 fills two courts every round and plays 7 games each; a box of 7 fills one court and plays 4. So 22 players in boxes of 8, 7 and 7 would be unfair. The generator looks at the splits near the size you chose and takes the one where every box plays the same: for 22 players at about 8, that is boxes of 6, 6, 5 and 5, with 4 games each.
- One finish date. A bigger box needs more rounds. Rather than finish early, a smaller box gets a little longer per round, so the whole league ends together and the moves up and down happen on one date.
Box league rules that work
A box league lives or dies on a few house rules: a date to play each round by, who books the court, what happens to a match that is not played, and how the table is ordered when two finish level. The padel box league guide covers each one, and league table tie breakers covers the ordering. For one or two up and down a season, see box league or ladder.

Questions
How many players should be in a padel box league box?
For rotating partners, 4 to 8 is common: a box of 4 plays 3 rounds and a box of 8 plays 7. Sizes of 5, 6 and 7 all give 4 games each, and 9, 10 and 11 all give 8, so those mix fairly. For fixed pairs, 4 to 6 pairs a box keeps the season short enough to finish.
How do I seed the boxes?
Type the names strongest first. Box 1 is filled first, so the top of your list plays together. Last season’s table or Playtomic levels both work as an order.
What if the boxes are different sizes?
They differ by one at most. With rotating partners the generator only mixes sizes that play the same number of games. The bigger box can need more rounds, so the smaller box gets a little longer per round and every box finishes on the same date.
How many go up and down?
One up and one down a box is the usual choice for boxes of 4 to 6. Two up and two down moves people faster in bigger boxes.
Can Padeliga run the box league for me?
Yes. Padeliga runs box leagues as Divisions: boxes seeded by Playtomic level or your order, fixtures and deadlines sent to every phone, scores confirmed by the other side, and promotion and relegation applied when the next season starts.
