How to install the Padeliga app on iPhone or Android

In short

On iPhone, get Padeliga free from the App Store. On Android, Padeliga is coming to Google Play; until then you install it from your browser: open the league link in Chrome and tap Install Padeliga, or use the browser menu. It then opens from its own icon on your home screen, with notifications.

On iPhone

  1. Open the Padeliga app on the App Store, or tap Get Padeliga from the App Store when you open a league link in Safari.
  2. Install it and open it.
  3. If you scanned a poster or were sent a link, tap the same link again: it now opens the app on that league.
  4. If you joined in the browser first, choose Sign in and use the same name and PIN.

The first time you open the app with no code, it may offer to save your name and phone number on this phone, so they fill in when you join a league. Tap Carry on without an account if you would rather not.

Rather not install anything?

Save the page to your home screen instead. It has to be Safari.

  1. Tap Share in the bar at the bottom. If you only see •••, tap that, then Share.
  2. Scroll down the list until you see Add to Home Screen, and tap it.
  3. Tap Add, then open the league from the new icon from now on.

On Android

Open the league link or the QR code in Chrome. Padeliga shows the league name and an install screen.

  1. Tap Install Padeliga, then confirm.
  2. If there is no Install button, open your browser menu, the three dots at the top right, and tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
  3. In Samsung Internet, tap the menu, the three lines at the bottom right, then Add page to, Home screen, Add.
  4. Open Padeliga from your home screen. The join code you arrived with is kept, so your league is waiting.

Padeliga is coming to Google Play soon. Until then, this is the Android app.

Opened the link inside WhatsApp or Instagram?

A page opened inside another app cannot be saved to your home screen. Tap the ··· menu in the corner, choose Open in Safari on iPhone or Open in Chrome on Android, and follow the steps above.

Just using the browser

You can tap Not now, carry on in the browser and use the league in a browser tab. Everything works except notifications, which need the app. See notifications.

Questions

Is Padeliga on Google Play?

Not yet. It is coming to Google Play soon. Until then Android players install it from the browser, and it works like an app with its own icon and notifications.

Is the app free?

Yes. Players never pay.

I joined in the browser. Do I have to join again in the app?

No. Open the league in the app and choose Sign in, with the same name and PIN. Or tap the invite link again once the app is installed.

Can I use it on a laptop?

Yes, in the browser. Notifications come to a phone with the app, not to a laptop.
